I’m Sofia, and I’m a fourth-year chemistry + biochemistry student working in the Schafer Group. My research is focused on organic and organometallic chemistry. After undergrad, I plan to pursue a PhD in organic chemistry. In my (limited) free time, I enjoy powerlifting, D&D, and reading.

Hi, I'm Signy! I am a fourth-year honours chemistry student interested in astrochemistry, quantum materials, and computational chemistry. I worked in the MacFarlane Group obsessing over crystals and DFT for three years. I'm a tropical plant hobbyist, thrifter, and extremely competitive at board game nights. 

Robin attended WCUCC in 1999 (Saskatoon!). Yes, that WAS actually in a prior millennium. Now he teaches analytical chemistry, global challenges in chemistry, communicating chemistry, a seminar for honours students, and as of this year: a grad-level class in teaching & learning chemistry. Terrific, but he'd rather be kayaking.

Jay Wickenden is, apparently, the Associate Head Undergraduate in Chemistry at UBC Vancouver - who willingly talks about assessment design for fun and thinks a well-run lab is a work of art. He is fueled by coffee, curiosity, and the belief that students learn best when exams are slightly unsettling but ultimately fair. When not teaching or accrediting chemistry programs, he can be found explaining why this experiment should have worked and why that, somehow, is the point.

Hi! My name is Pinn Yee and I am a third year chemistry major. I was born in Singapore but grew up in Vancouver for most of my life, and I enjoy the gym, spending time with loved ones, and walks. I love learning about different fields and applications of chemistry, particularly from my peers. 

Hello! I'm an absolute nerd (and proud of it) who loves organic chemistry and Physiology. If you don't see me bouncing between the chem and bio buildings, odds are I'm at the pool or reading a book at home. I'm beyond proud to be one of your Undergraduate Coordinators this year!

Hello! I’m Kairavi, a 4th year Chemistry major. I have an interest in inorganic chemistry and catalysis, and am currently working on its applications in polymerisation. Hi! I’m a computational chemist who spends my days researching chemistry through simulations and code. I spend the rest of my time chasing runner’s high or hiking up hills. My life basically revolves around caffeine, trying to find the best running route, and chemistry (of course).

Hi! I'm originally from Ontario, but I moved to Vancouver for the skiing and for the ocean! I enjoy using chemistry to tackle problems from new perspectives, and I love that you can try something new every day. If I'm not in the lab, I'm probably in the gym, playing guitar or out on the hill!

You can usually catch me cloud-watching when I should be studying chemistry— our love-hate arc started with my dream of making cool drugs… now it’s just trauma and titrations. When I’m not fighting for my life in orgo, I’m binging movies and yapping! I’m just here trying to find joy in the mundane and maybe pass chem next year :3
